Meghan Trainor Fronts Fullbeauty Brands' #OwnYourCurves Campaign
The singer is all about those curves.
Plus-size clothing brand Fullbeauty Brands has named "All About That Bass" singer Meghan Trainor as the official face of its #OwnYourCurves campaign, which launches tomorrow.
WWD reported that the company, which is undergoing a rebranding process after changing its name from OneStopPlus earlier this year, is aiming to alter consumers' perception of size and shape as it relates to beauty. Like ModCloth and other retailers that sell extended sizes, Fullbeauty Brands also is looking to do away with the term "plus."
Said Stephanie Sobel, president of the brand, "Plus is an industry term, but we want to embrace a broader view of the millions of women that we serve."
Added Trainor, "I like that people are wanting to get rid of the term ‘plus-size’ because it shouldn’t be that." The singer applauded Fullbeauty for its approach, noting that the marketing "makes you feel confident and sexy."
As the face of the campaign, the 21-year-old not only will appear in digital ads, but she also will act as a judge for the brand's design contest, which is being held among students at FIT.
