Mel Gibson's 'The Beaver' Sets U.K. Release Date

The Jodie Foster-directed film could be released straight to DVD in the U.S., according to reports.

Mel Gibson's The Beaver will be released in U.K. theaters Feb. 11, 2011, according to the Film Distributor's Association schedule which Digital Spy reported.

Black Swan, Just Go With It, No Strings Attached and Yogi Bear also open that week.

The Jodie Foster-directed comedy centers on a man (Gibson) who believes his beaver sock puppet is real. Anton Yelchin, Jennifer Lawrence and Foster also star.

The movie will be distributed in the U.K. through Icon, part of a production company formed by the actor and his producing partner Bruce Davey.

Summit Entertainment still has not set a distribution date for The Beaver in the U.S., though there are reports that it could be a straight-to-DVD release.
