Mel Gibson's ex drops legal team

Following revelations that authorities are investigating the authenticity of several photographs depicting Oksana Grigorieva with facial injuries she claims were inflicted by Mel Gibson, TMZ reports that Gibson's ex-girlfriend has fired her criminal defense lawyers after recently switching family law attorneys.

The celebrity news site said that Grigorieva gave her criminal defense team their walking papers on Tuesday.

They had been handling, among other things, the L.A. County Sheriff's Department criminal probe into Gibson's claim that Grigorieva tried to extort him.

"The firings leave Oksana vulnerable, without a lawyer to represent her in what we're told is a "serious" criminal investigation," TMZ said.
