Melissa Gilbert is headed to the altar.
The actress, best known for her role on Little House on the Prairie, is engaged to former thirtysomething star Timothy Busfield.
"They are engaged and both are incredibly happy," her rep confirmed to People, which reported that the couple became engaged over the holidays.
While Gilbert, 48, is best known for playing Laura on the 1974-83 series Little House, she was back in the spotlight last year as a competitor on ABC's Dancing With the Stars. She finished in fifth place with her professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Busfield, 55, played Elliot Weston in the 1987-91 drama thirtysomething and more recently appeared on The Mob Doctor, Blue Bloods and Childrens Hospital. He also is a prolific TV director, with credits including Damages, Lipstick Jungle and Without a Trace.
Gilbert has two children from her previous marriages to Bo Brinkman and Bruce Boxleitner.
Busfield, who has three children, also has been married twice before.
