Graphic black-and-white gowns packed a serious fashion punch on this year's Met Gala red carpet.

Michael Kors scored two big wins in this category: Zoe Saldana arrived with the designer, sporting a black-and-white paisley-printed gown, while Jessica Pare donned a strapless, floor-length gown splashed with a dizzying floral print.

Greta Gerwig opted for a less playful but equally chic statement in a one-shoulder Olivier Theyskens design, complete with a daring black-and-white patterned and tiered high-low hemline.
