This Is How Makeup Artist Kathy Jeung Got Rita Ora Ready for the Met Ball
The beauty guru shares her behind-the-scenes photo diary.
"The Met Gala feels like the Oscars in terms of pressure to create lasting and well-received style and glamour in an arena where an invitation is the ultimate, exclusive honor," says makeup artist Kathy Jeung, who envisioned Rita Ora’s shimmering Met Gala look to play up the singer's dramatic Vera Wang gown. "To me, the silver feather dress had a feeling reminiscent of Fritz Lang’s [sci-fi film] Metropolis and the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud Spirit of Ecstasy icon — the early days of the machine age, but in an almost futuristic way."
Here, Jeung takes us behind the scenes of her jam-packed day leading up to Ora's major red-carpet moment, metallic makeup and all.
