Met Gala: Dianna Agron, Melanie Laurent and Maggie Q to Wear Custom Tory Burch Gowns
The New York-based designer has created three Chinese-themed looks for the actresses.
A-list actresses, models and designers will not be walking down the carpet to the Met Ball in just a few hours — but up the famed sky-high steps of the Metropolitan Museum, where all will be greeted by host Anna Wintour. And we already have word about some of the looks: Dianna Agron, French actress Melanie Laurent and Maggie Q will all be wearing custom gowns by Tory Burch, who will arriving and seated with the three actresses.
Laurent's will be wearing a strapless silk and wool mikado gown in a column shape, with a sequined Chinese print, and classic nude ankle strap sandals. Agron will be donning a draped one-shoulder gown in silk chiffon, embellished with red and white chiffon cranes — bird prints being a prominent look in traditional Chinese culture.
Maggie Q's dress is a double-faced silk crepe tunic with crystal embellishments, side slits and a deep V back — with wide double faced silk crepe pants. A daring look for the Met Ball — pants! — but one that's uniquely Chinese.
Burch isn't the only designer to reveal who she's dressing for the Gala, as Calvin Klein's Francisco Costa has shared he's creating a look for Kendall Jenner, and Burberry is designing a custom floor-length gown for Naomi Campbell. As for what we can expect from other attendees, Kim Kardashian will be wearing a Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli dress and Livia Firth has selected an eco-friendly frock by Antonio Berardi.
