Metrodome partners with Rialto for 'Lebanon'

Samuel Maoz's tale of 4 soldiers trapped in a tank

LONDON -- British indie distribtutor Metrodome, listed here on the Alternative Investment Market, said Thursday it has partnered with Rialto Distribution to bring Samuel Maoz's "Lebanon" to the U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

Rialto will release the movie in Australia and New Zealand with Metrodome pushing Maoz's movie out here and in Ireland.

The movie recently unspooled In Competition at this year's Venice Film Festival and is based on first time writer-director Maoz's life in Lebanon. It centers on four soldiers trapped in an immobilized tank deep in enemy territory during the Lebanon War.

For Metrodome, the deal was negotiated by chief executive Peter Urie, general manager, distribution Sara Frain and head of acquisitions James Brown with Violaine Pichon for sales agent Celluloid Dreams. Kelly Rogers of Rialto Pictures sealed the deal to take the picture to the two Southern hemisphere territories.
