Metrodome picks up French couple
'Anything for Her,' 'Leaving' taken for U.K., IrelandLONDON -- U.K. indie distributor Metrodome, listed here on the AIM stock exchange, is brushing up on its French, snapping up U.K. and Irish rights to "Anything for Her" and "Leaving" in two separate deals.
Metrodome CEO Peter Urie, general manager distribution Sara Frain and head of acquisitions James Brown negotiated the deal with Elle Driver for "Anything," and with Pyramide International for "Leaving" in a pre-buy deal.
Billed as a thriller, Fred Cavaye's "Anything" stars Diane Kruger as a wife wrongly accused of murder. Vincent Lindon plays the husband who hatches a plan to break her out of prison.
British-born Kristen Scott Thomas, in her second French-speaking role after "I Loved You So Long," plays a wife tempted into infidelity in "Leaving." The film co-stars Ivan Attal and Sergi Lopez.
The company's 2009 release slate already sports a Gallic flavor with "Mark of an Angel," "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life" and "Seraphine."
Metrodome plans to release "Anything" in June and "Leaving" later this year.
