Mexico to Host MIP Cancun

Market will draw leading Latin-American TV buyers

MIPCOM and MIP TV organizer Reed Midem have announced the launch of MIP Cancun in November.

Acquisition execs from some 40 channels in the region, plus about 40 distributors of international programming, will descend on Cancun from Nov. 19-21.

The gathering, set at the JW Marriott in the resort town of Cancun, will focus on scripted and unscripted content, including fiction, formats, factual and kids entertainment.

Event organizers say MIP Cancun meets a growing demand for international companies looking to do business with their counterparts in Latin America. Spanish-speaking viewers are one of the fastest growing audiences of the entertainment industry.

Mexico, the world's leading producing nation of Spanish-language content, was MIPCOM's country of honor earlier this month in Cannes, France.
