First-look agreement unites two key Spanish-language TV players.
Mexico City -- Televisa and Sony Pictures Television have signed a first-look co-production deal for scripted and unscripted formats, including the Mexican media giant's popular telenovelas.
Under the agreement, SPT gets first look at all of Televisa's formats for co-production worldwide, with the exception of the U.S. and Latin America. In turn, Teleivsa has first look at SPT's scripted formats for possible co-productions in Spain.

Televisa is looking to boost production in Spain. It recently took a 14.5 percent stake in Imagina, a leading Spanish-lingo media outfit.
Sony Pictures Television International produced the series Los Simuladores (The Pretenders) for Televisa in 2008. It marked the first time SPTI had done a scripted program for Mexico's top network.
Monday's announcement came out of Miami at the annual NATPE event.
