MGM Hires Lori Silfen as Senior Vice President, Music
Silfen will oversee all music related matters for feature film and television production.
Lori Silfen, formerly of Nickelodeon/MTV and New Line Cinema, has joined MGM as the senior vice president of music.
Silfen will oversee all music related matters for feature film and television production on behalf of the studio. Additionally, she will manage the MGM catalogue of masters and publishing.
“Lori brings a remarkable measure of expertise in the film music business to MGM,” say MGM Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officers, Gary Barber and Roger Birnmbaum. “With her extensive experience in that field and her enthusiasm for our upcoming projects as well as our catalogue, we couldn’t be more pleased to have her join our growing executive roster.”
During her 15 years at New Line Cinema, Silfen oversaw projects including Wedding Crashers, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Blade and Elf. She was instrumental in the formation of New Line Records label, focusing on independent artist development and the release of platinum selling soundtracks including Hairspray and Sex and the City.
While at Nickelodeon/MTV Networks Kids and Family Group, she held the position of vice president, music business and legal affairs.
