You, too, can take part in the initiative. Here's how to get involved.

Michael Kors is using the power of fashion to fight world hunger. On Thursday, which also happens to be World Food Day, the designer announced on CNN that he will donate 100 meals to children in need for each person who posts a photo wearing his "Watch Hunger Stop" tee (available at participating Michael Kors stores through the end of October) on any social media platform with the hashtag #WatchHungerStop.

Kors' involvement with world hunger has been ongoing since the late 1980s, when he started God's Love We Deliver, a nonprofit organization that provides nutritious meals to ill individuals.

The designer has also teamed up with Halle Berry, who traveled to rural Nicaragua on behalf of his philanthropic initiative, which helps raise awareness and funds for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). "When Michael asked me to join him in this campaign to Watch Hunger Stop, it felt like the right thing to do. It's a cause I care about and I felt I could make a difference," said Berry in a statement about her trip, which was documented by National Geographic.

In addition to the Watch Hunger Stop T-shirts, Kors has designed a new rose-gold-tone, limited-edition 100 Series watch in support of WFP this month. For every 100 Series watch sold, the designer will donate $25 to WFP to help feed children in need.

Now who says fashion is superficial? Because we beg to differ.
