The Producer Guild of America has tapped controversial documentarian Michael Moore as a featured speaker for Produced By: New York conference.

“Michael Moore is one of the most acclaimed documentary filmmakers in the world today," said Lori McCreary and Gary Lucchesi, presidents of the PGA. "We are so excited to offer PBNY attendees the chance to be a part of this candid discussion with one of the defining voices in contemporary film.”

Moore's filmography includes Roger & Me, Sicko and Capitalism: A Love Story. He won an Oscar for his film Bowling for Columbine.

His most recent film, Where to Invade Next, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was later acquired by Former Radius-TWC founders and co-presidents Tom Quinn and Jason Janego, along with Alamo Drafthouse founder and CEO Tim League.

Moore will be replacing Tina Fey, who will no longer be able to attend the conference as the featured speaker due to the passing of a family member.

Other speakers include producers Effie Brown (Dear White People) and Michael London (Trumbo), as well as Birdman director Alejandro G. Inarritu.

Produced By: New York offers 21 panel discussions, mentoring roundtables and workshops covering fundamental industry topics across film, television and digital media.
