Michael Rosenberg Joins Film Movement as Co-President
The exec, who had previously been at Entertainment One U.S., will serve alongside president Adley Gartenstein.
Michael E. Rosenberg is joining Film Movement, the New York-based indie film distributor, as co-president, serving alongside Adley Gartenstein, who has been Film Movement’s president since 2007.
Rosenberg, who also will become an equity-holder in the company, previously spent 26 years at Entertainment One U.S. and its predecessor company, Koch Entertainment, leaving his position as president late last year.
“I have been very impressed by Film Movement’s innovative model of film distribution. Adley and his team have done a tremendous job of building a smart, modern film company with a high-quality catalog and a great diversity of distribution channels,” Rosenberg said.
“Michael Rosenberg is a dynamic, bright and experienced leader, and a straight-talking honest media executive. His experience in building Koch Vision, Koch Lorber Films and Entertainment One U.S. will be invaluable to the growth of Film Movement. I am very much looking forward to working with him,” Gartenstein said.
Recent Film Movement acquisitions include 1000 Times Goodnight, Eric Poppe’s English-language drama/thriller starring Juliette Binoche, and Alejandro Fernandez Almendras’ Sundance world cinema dramatic grand jury prize winner, To Kill a Man. In 2013 Film Movement started a sister imprint, Ram Releasing, which launches this year with a full slate of genre titles.
