Michele Bachmann Retirement Draws Snark on Twitter (Video)
The Minnesota conservative says she won't seek re-election in 2014.
The news of Michele Bachmann's impending retirement is drawing a chorus of snark on Twitter, from the showbiz set in L.A. to the media pundits of New York.
In an eight-and-a-half minute video missive on Wednesday (watch below), the Minnesota congresswoman and Tea Party darling announced that she would not seek re-election next year. She said her decision “was not impacted in any way by the recent inquiries into the activities of my former presidential campaign." (Earlier this year, an ex-Bachmann aide submitted complaints with the Federal Election Commission, alleging financial violations linked to her failed bid to win the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.)
