AFM: 'Pali Road' Featurette Focuses on Michelle Chen's Hawaii Shoot (Exclusive Video)
Jonathan Lim's mystery film is the first Chinese-Hawaiian co-production.
Pali Road follows a young doctor who wakes up after a horrible car accident and cannot remember her previous life, including the boyfriend that her parents vehemently deny her having.
The Crimson Forest Entertainment film stars Michelle Chen, the Taiwanese actress known for You Are the Apple of My Eye which broke box office records in Taiwan. Chen is joined in the mystery film by Twilight's Jackson Rathbone and Fast & Furious' Sung Kang.
Directed by Jonathan Lim, Pali Road is the first Chinese-Hawaiian co-production, and was shot entirely in Hawaii.
In the behind-the-scenes featurette, the international cast talks about working with Chen and Lim, and what it is like working on the islands. The clip's B-roll sees the film's stars surfing, walking along yellow-sand beaches and sitting at the foot of banyan tress.
The movie will screen for buyers at this year's American Film Market (running Nov. 4-11 in Santa Monica), and will have its festival premiere at the Hawaii International Film Festival.
Lim produces the film alongside Daxing Zhang and Kenneth Burke, with Anthony Lim, Jon Chiew, Grace Zhang, Geng Ling, Ricardo S. Galindez and Roy J. Tjioe all acting as executive producers.
Pali Road is the first project in a slate of three films that Crimson is co-producing with Dadi Digital Film, China Film Assist and Cuixing Media Group who will distribute the film in China.
