Michelle Obama Blooms In Naeem Khan
A perfect complement to the Cuban foliage.
Michelle Obama makes it look so easy. At Monday evening's state dinner with her hubby (the President) and Cuban President Raul Castro, held at Havana's Palace of the Revolution, the first lady was the best-dressed diplomat in the garden, looking lovely in a number that was both cocktail-ready and chic.
Clashing with the foliage is obviously a major faux pas, so Michelle chose a knee-length number by Naeem Khan with pops of red, pink and orange florals, which matched the lush, green Cuban landscape. Even her patent liquid heels blended seamlessly with the wet black stone tiles — an intentional move, we're sure.
The Obamas' trip to our southern neighbors is one for the history books (literally), so it's pleasing to see Michelle repping New York-based designers like Khan as well as Carolina Herrera, whose designs were spotted on FLOTUS as she disembarked from Air Force One on Sunday. Floral prints, too, have been a go-to for the first lady lately, with blooms cropping up in her wardrobe not just in Cuba, but also during last week's state dinner with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, where Michelle killed it in a pretty Jason Wu number.
From the looks of their trip so far, the Obamas appear to be Havana pretty good time.
