The grant will be awarded to a student in the M.A. in Fashion program at London's Central Saint Martins college.

It's hard to believe that it's been nearly a year since L'Wren Scott sadly ended her own life. At the time of her death, her longtime partner Mick Jagger released a statement on his website, saying "her talent was much admired, not least by me." In memory of Scott's talent, Jagger has established a scholarship for fashion students at London's Central Saint Martins college.

The grant, which will be given to a student in the M.A. in Fashion program each year through 2017, will be named in the late designer's honor. While Scott was a self-taught seamstress and never attended design school, she met the late Louise Wilson, who served as the course director of the MA fashion program for 20 years, at the British Fashion Awards. Scott was "impressed with Louise's commitment to excellence and her dedication to fashion education," reported WWD

"I am very grateful to receive this extremely generous scholarship package. Our students sacrifice so much to take up this course and work extremely hard while they are here," said Fabio Piras, course director of Central Saint Martins' M.A. Fashion program. "I am very proud of the fact that this course, through its alumni, continues to be recognized as a major contributor to the future of the global fashion industry."
