'Project X' Star Miles Teller, Analeigh Tipton and Jessica Szohr to Topline 'Two Night Stand'
The indie romantic comedy, directed by Max Nichols, will be financed by newly minted Demarest Films.
Project X star Miles Teller will star opposite Analeigh Tipton and Jessica Szohr in the indie romantic comedy Two Night Stand.
Demarest Films, a financing and production company launched in April by Sam Englebardt, Michael Lambert, and William D. Johnson, will finance and co-produce the film that Max Nichols is directing from Mark Hammer’s 2011 Black List script.
The story centers on a pair of twentysomething strangers who awaken after an ill-advised one-night stand to find themselves snowed in by a blizzard that’s put all of Manhattan on ice. Trapped together in a tiny downtown apartment, they’re forced to get to know each other far better than any anonymous bed partners should.
Principal photography will begin Oct. 15 in New York.
Englebardt and Johnson will produce alongside Beau Flynn and Ruben Fleischer. Adam Yoelin and Mark Hammer are executive producing.
“Max Nichols and his hugely talented young cast are going to breathe new life into romantic comedies with this refreshingly honest look at modern courtship,” Englebardt said.
UTA is handling domestic sales, while Lisa Wilson’s the Solution is handling foreign rights.
Demarest’s upcoming slate includes the Anton Corbijn-helmed A Most Wanted Man, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Rachel McAdams, Willem Dafoe and Robin Wright; and Paranoia, the high-tech corporate espionage thriller directed by Robert Luketic, whichstars Liam Hemsworth, Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman and Amber Heard. The company’s Byzantium premiered this month at the Toronto International Film Festival.
