Miller to market for CBS Films
EmptyCBS Films has hired Warner Bros. veteran Debbie Miller as its executive vp worldwide marketing.
Miller, who will report to CBS Films president and CEO Amy Baer, will oversee marketing, advertising, promotions, publicity, media and research and handle digital-media efforts.
Miller has spent the past seven years at Warners, where she served as executive vp domestic theatrical marketing. Among the campaigns she's credited for are the "Harry Potter" films, "Million Dollar Baby," "Michael Clayton," "Happy Feet" and the "Ocean's" franchise.
Baer noted Miller's range, saying she had "orchestrated highly successful campaigns in every genre, ranging from the biggest blockbusters to sleeper hits." Before Warners, Miller was a publicity exec at Fox.
The announcement comes several months ahead of a start date; Miller is under contract at Warners until June and will start at CBS Films at that time.
CBS Films has been staffing up methodically since launching more than a year ago. Baer also has on her team such established film world vets as Bruce Tobey and Maria Faillace. The company, which is in development on a range of projects, plans on releasing four to six movies per year.
