MIPAcademy Singapore to Debut at Asia TV Forum in December
Industry experts will counsel on nonscripted formats and factual programming at the event.
MIPAcademy Singapore, a one-day event on nonscripted formats and factual programming, will make its debut at this year's Asia TV Forum & Market in December in the city state, organizers said.
The program includes a full-day suite of master classes held as part of the ATF conference slate, and it is scheduled on the last day of the conference on Dec. 6, 2013, organizers said in a statement.
Experts attending the event include Virginia Mouseler, CEO of The WIT; Michel Rodrigue, who heads up The Format People; and Ann Christin Siljan, international sales director of Nordic World.
Also taking part are Beryl Yan, who is head of the program strategy department at Hunan Satellite TV, and Na Young-suk of CJ Entertainment tvN.
"The MIPAcademy offers a brilliant opportunity to come and listen, question and challenge some of the TV industry's major figures," said Ben Hall, managing director of Chalkboard TV, who will be leading a session on The Art of Pitching.
"It’s informative but informal and, deliberately, very interactive. In the rapidly changing media maelstrom, our speakers are there to start a meaningful dialogue rather than to simply tell you how it is," said Hall.
Industry veteran Larry Namer, head of Metan Development Group, will share his views on how to navigate the global business of show business.
"China’s media business is evolving at a rapid rate and has become the market to watch. MIPAcademy has recognized this, and I’m delighted to be invited to take part in this inaugural event," said Namer.
Initiative is produced by Reed MIDEM, which runs MIPTV and MIPCOM in Cannes, and Reed Exhibitions Singapore, in collaboration with The Entertainment Master Class, and Local Roots, Global Reach.
