MIPCOM 2012: FremantleMedia Asia's Former CEO Launching His Own Company
Patrick Schult's Singapore-based Media-Stable will distribute Japanese formats and develop and license original content custom-tailored for the Asian market.
Former FremantleMedia Asia CEO Patrick Schult is hanging out his own shingle to distribute Japanese formats as well as develop and license original content custom-tailored for the Asian market.
Called Media-Stable and based in Singapore, the company's first move at start-up is a capital alliance with Japanese entertainment producer Big Face, a pioneer in developing cross-mediia content. Among its key properties is the game show NumerOn, which Media-Stable will now handle.
Shingo Ishiyama, head of production for Big Face, will extend his role and serve on the Media-Stable board. The partnership will geographically extend the scope of business for Big Face in the areas of TV production, rights licensing, smart phone app development/distribution, web development and event management.
"The world is now calling for diverse and multifaceted business methods. Big Face has been a pioneer of such cross-media distribution and is the ideal partner for my business venture," Schult said.
As CEO of FremantleMedia Asia, Schult led the development of content for Asian audiences and expanded the distribution of Fremantle properties in Asia.
