Mipcom 2012: Starz's Spartacus Headed to Scandinavia
HBO Nordic will also exclusively air future Starz Original series and additional movie content.
Starz's epic series Spartacus is headed to Scandinavia via a deal with a new platform there called HBO Nordic.
The comprehensive multi-year agreement brings HBO Nordic a wide selection of the U.S. Paybox's shows exclusively on pay TV and subscription VOD.
Along with Spartacus in the deal is another Starz series Magic City as well as Party Down, Method to the Madness of Jerry Lewis, and Masters of Horror and Masters of Science Fiction.
HBO Nordic will also exclusively air future Starz Original series and additional movie content.
No financial details were made available.
"The licensing agreement with HBO Nordic brings a treasure trove of great movie and TV content that should play well to all audiences in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark," said Gene George, EVP of Worldwide Distribution for Starz Media.
