MIPCOM premieres for 'Mad Men,' 'Wilde'
MIPCOM World Premiere TV Screenings on Oct.4PARIS -- This year's MIPCOM promises to be a "Mad" and "Wilde" market with Lionsgate's Emmy award-winning series "Mad Men" and anticipated romantic comedy show "Running Wilde" set to screen at the first ever MIPCOM World Premiere TV Screenings on Oct.4, organizers Reed MIDEM said Tuesday.
The inaugural event open to all MIPCOM delegates, will take place in the vast Palais des Festivals' Grand Auditorium. An unaired episode from the fourth season of "Mad Men" will screen complete with a visit from the show's cast members. The show, which airs in 100 countries worldwide, won the 2010 Emmy Awards for outstanding drama series and outstanding writing for a drama series on Sunday.
Lionsgate will also screen host the international premiere of the second episode of "Running Wilde" after the studio showed the first episode to buyers at the L.A. Screenings earlier this year.
"Wilde" is was written and created by Mitch Hurwitz, Jim Vallely and Will Arnett and stars Arnett as an immature playboy trying to win over his childhood sweetheart, played by familiar small screen face Keri Russell. The show is produced by Tantamount Studios, Five Hole Pictures and Principato-Young Management in association with Lionsgates Television.
"MIPCOM World Premiere TV Screenings offer the ideal platform to preview, launch and raise awareness for the shows that audiences will be watching in the year to come," director of Reed MIDEM's Television Division Laurine Gauraude said.
Talent has not yet been announced, but Reed MIDEM confirms that "leading cast members" will be in attendance. The 2010 MIPCOM market will run from Oct. 4th – 8th in Cannes.
