The conspiracy thriller, which DCD Rights is selling at MIPTV, stars Lucy Lawless and David Wenham and will go out on the Sundance Channel in Latin America and on Denmark's public broadcaster DR.

Australian conspiracy thriller The Code, starring Lucy Lawless (Spartacus), Adam Garcia (Camp), David Wenham (Top Of The Lake) and Aden Young (I Frankenstein), has booked air time in the U.S., Latin American and Denmark.

The Audience Network has picked up U.S. rights to the six-part drama that tells the story of two very different brothers who unearth information that those at the highest levels of political power will kill to keep secret. Sundance Channel grabbed rights for Latin America and public broadcaster DR took Danish broadcast rights ahead of the international launch of The Code at MIPTV in Cannes next week.

Brit-based DCD Rights is handling world sales for the show, produced by Australian banner Playmaker. The Code is set to premiere on Australia's ABC1 later this year.

DCD Rights CEO Nicky Davies Williams said: "This internationally relevant drama is a fantastic new addition to our scripted offering. It has all the ingredients for success, such as a burning topic, solid on/off screen talent and the high-quality production values that have propelled Australian drama’s reputation around the world."

The Code was created by Shelley Birse and co-written by Birse, Blake Ayshford and Justin Monjo.

It is directed by Shawn Seet (Lovechild) and produced by Playmaker’s David Maher, David Taylor and Birse.

DCD Rights has made Aussie drama a specialty, recently racking up international sales on such shows such as The Slap, Rake and Mr & Mrs Murder as well as Oz comedy A Moody Christmas.
