MIPTV: ITV Renews Deal with 'Jane Eyre' Producer Ruby Film
ITV Studios Global Entertainment will handle international distribution on Ruby Film's film and TV productions.
CANNES - ITV Studios Global Entertainment has renewed its multi-year distribution deal with Ruby Film & Television, taking exclusive international distribution rights to all television and film productions from the British shingle behind Jane Eyre.
Other feature titles from Ruby Film, founded by Oscar-nominated producer Alison Owen (Elisabeth) include the Vegas-set comedy Lay the Favorite with Bruce Willis, Vince Vaughn and Rebecca Hall and upcoming Saving Mr. Banks starring Tom Hanks, Colin Farrell and Emma Thompson.
The London-based company is also active on the small screen with the period drama Dancing on the Edge starring John Goodman, Matthew Goode and Jacqueline Bisset, which recently premiered on BBC Two; and the crime drama Case Histories, now in its second season on BBC One.
In a separate deal, ITV Studios signed a multi-year content deal with Cirkus, a new VOD service set to launch later this year. The agreement will see ITV Studios supply Cirkus will hundreds of hours of programming, including such Brit TV drama highlights as Prime Suspect and Poirot.
The subscription VOD service, which specializes in British television, will launch in Scandinavia later this year. It was set up by content consultancy group Content&Co, in collaboration with British digital design studio Ostmodern and London media law firm Wiggin.
