MIPTV: Jamie Oliver's Fresh One Extends FremantleMedia Deal
The FremantleMedia sales arm will bring two fresh shows to the market for buyers in April featuring the British celebrity cook.
LONDON – British celebrity cook Jamie Oliver’s independent TV banner Fresh One Productions has extended its output deal with FremantleMedia International, the global distribution arm of FremantleMedia, which is part of Bertelsmann's RTL Group.
The deal means that FremantleMedia International will continue in its capacity as exclusive distribution and first-look partner for all Fresh One productions featuring the British cook.
The deal also allows FMI to handle tape sales of Oliver’s existing shows -- such as Jamie's Money Saving Meals/Save With Jamie; Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feasts and Jamie's 15-Minute Meals -- and includes those made under the terms of the original deal as well as any future titles.
In April, FMI plans to bring two fresh Oliver shows to the international marketplace at MIPTV in Cannes. They are season two of Jamie and Jimmy’s Food Fight Club, in which childhood friends Oliver and Jimmy Doherty cook food with celebrity guests, including Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt and Sienna Miller, and Jamie’s Festive Feasts, a celebration of year-end holiday season cooking.
FMI acting CEO Bob McCourt described Oliver as one of "the world’s most pioneering and sought-after TV personalities, renowned for his global campaigning work as well as the diversity and quality of his output."
Said McCourt: "He has been a stalwart of the FremantleMedia International catalog for over a decade and I’m delighted that we are continuing our relationship with him and the team at Fresh One Productions."
FMI began business with Fresh One in 2002, when it began handling early show Oliver’s Twist.
