MIPTV: Keshet Media CEO Avi Nir to Deliver Keynote
PARIS -- Avi Nir, CEO of international format powerhouse Keshet Media Group, will give a keynote speech as part of MIPTV's Media Mastermind series.
Nir will address the changing expectations of viewers and how to drive innovation to keep up with an audience on the move. The Emmy-winning Homeland executive producer will focus on the current challenge of retaining viewer attention in both scripted and unscripted shows.
Keshet has seen huge global success with its scripted and unscripted formats, including Prisoners of War, which sold in more than 20 territories and became Showtime's hit Homeland. As well, its Rising Star music competition sold in 25 territories across Europe, Scandinavia and South America before being acquired for a U.S. version by ABC that will debut later this year.
Nir will cite the examples from Keshet's catalog that have been developed internationally, and the digital impact on program lifecycles. U.S. versions of Keshet's scripted series Dig, False Flag, and MICE are also in production.
Israel is the TV confab's country of focus this year, with several panels on the huge success of the small country. "Success Stories From Israel" will be part of the co-production marketplace of MIPDoc; "Opportunities in Israel" part of the new MIPFormats section; and "Fresh TV From Israel," "How to Create Successful Scripted Formats" and the "Israeli Innovation" seminar will all be a part of MIPTV.
MIPDoc runs April 5-6, and MIPTV runs from April 7-10 in Cannes.
