MIPTV: National Geographic Takes 'Invisible Nature' from Zodiak
The National Geographic Channel has picked up French factual series Invisible Nature, which uses electronic microscopy to reveal the hidden secrets of plants, from Zodiak Rights. The 3x1 hour series was produced by Zodiak subsidiary Mona Lisa for the France 5 network.
National Geographic also picked up Kodiak’s K2, A Cry from the Top of the World, a one-off 45 minute special about the survivors of the 2008 mountaineering disaster in the Himalayans in which 12 people lost their lives. National Geographic will program K2 as part of its upcoming series Die Trying which looks at the world’s greatest adventurers and thrill-seekers.
Zodiak also closed multiple deals for the Canadian market with Bell Media picking up Zodiak's music reality series The Lylas, which follows four of Bruno Mars' sisters as they move from Hawaii to California in search of chart success; and Risky Listing, a real estate reality series produced by Zodiak New York.
Canada’s Shaw Media also picked up a package of Zodiak programming including the second series of TruTV’s Killer Karaoke and GWR Unleashed and the latest season of IWC Media’s Location Location Location while Canada's Travel + Escape channel picked up the second season of Zodiak's Bad Trips Abroad series for broadcast next summer.
