MIPTV: Sammy Nourmand New COO of Keshet UK
The Brit TV veteran will co-ordinate the launch of Keshet's “Rising Star” format in the U.K. as well as upcoming formats from the hot Israeli production house.
Israeli production group Keshet, the company behind the original Homeland and much-hyped interactive singing competition show Rising Star, has named Sammy Nourmand to the newly-created role of Chief Operating Officer of Keshet UK.
The move comes as Keshet is revving up its operations in the key British TV market ahead of the launch of Rising Star on commercial network ITV later this year.
Nourmand will oversee the U.K. version of Rising Star as well as upcoming formats from Keshet for the U.K. market.
“As our UK office goes from strength to strength I’m delighted to have Sammy on board to navigate our journey during this significant growth period,” said Keshet International, CEO Alon Shtruzman. “The experience he has built over many years in the industry will be a great asset to us."
Nourmand joins Keshet from DCD Media, where he has served as CEO since 2012. At DCD he oversaw the company's portfolio of reality and non-scripted production companies, including September Films, Matchlight, Prospect and Rise USA.
Based in London, Nourmand will report directly to Shtruzman.
“The lure of Keshet's impressive track record in creating successful shows and Alon's irrepressible enthusiasm were hard to resist,” said Nourmand. “I'm pleased to be joining Keshet at this exciting time.”
Keshet International also has local production offices in Canada and Australia and Keshet/DCP in the U.S..
