MIPTV: 'Victoria' Sells Wide for ITV Studios
The period drama — already set to air on Masterpiece next year — was picked up across Europe, Africa and in Canada.
ITV Studios has signed a raft of territory deals for its major upcoming drama Victoria.
Following the eight-part series' first screening at MIPTV's inaugural Drama Screenings on Sunday and its Monday launch in the market, acquisitions were announced across the Nordics by Sweden’s TV4, Norway’s NRK, DR in Denmark and Finland’s YLE, NPO in the Netherlands, Yes in Israel, ITV Choice across Africa and Zoomer Media’s Vision TV in Canada.
The ambitious period drama — which stars former Doctor Who companion Jenna Colman as the newly crowned 19th century monarch Queen Victoria — has already been picked up by PBS in a co-production deal, and is due to air next year in the same time slot once occupied by Downton Abbey.
