Miranda July's 'The Future' Goes to U.K., Spain
The Match Factory inks multiple deals on the 30-something angst-fest.
COLOGNE, Germany – Miranda July's The Future was shut out of the awards in Sundance and Berlin but that hasn't deterred buyers, who've snapped up the 30-something angst-fest from sales agent The Match Factory.
Match inked deals for The Future with Picturehouse Entertainment in the U.K., Golem in Spain, Nonstop Entertainment for Scandinavia and the Baltic States, ABC Cinemien for Benelux, Atalanta Filmes in Portugal and MCF Megacom for the ex-Yugoslavian states. Asian buyers also took a look at The Future, with T'Cast taking the film for South Korea and Joint Ent. grabbing Taiwanese rights.
Roadside Attractions picked up July's sophomore effort after its Sundance debut. Haut et Court has French rights to the feature.
