Miriam Levin, Executive Assistant to Warren Cowan, Dies at 95
She worked with the legendary Hollywood publicist for years
Miriam Levin, longtime executive assistant to the late entertainment publicist Warren Cowan, died Friday in Los Angeles. She was 95.
Levin moved to Los Angeles in 1983 and joined the famed Rogers & Cowan PR firm, eventually becoming executive assistant to Cowan. She moved with him to Warren Cowan & Associates, which he formed in 1994, and during her career worked with such clients as Paul Newman, Merv Griffin and Kirk Douglas.
Cowan died in 2008.
A native of New York, Levin raised her family in Philadelphia and worked as the office manager of the Scheie Eye Institute at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center before coming west. She lived in Beverly Hills for more than three decades.
Survivors include her children Gwenn, Helaine, Lisa and Michael, grandchildren Andrew, Joey and Samantha and great-grandchildren Max, Nina and Zachary.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Mount Sinai Memorial Park and Mortuary in Simi Valley, Calif. Donations may be made in her memory to Tower Cancer Research Foundation.
