Miss Piggy to Be Official BAFTA Red Carpet Host
The femme fatale will interview the likes of George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender as the official red carpet host for sponsor Orange.
LONDON – Movie over ladies. Some of the most glamorous and talented actresses in the world will grace the red carpet at this years’ BAFTA film awards in London Sunday. But they will face tough, perhaps even unfair competition in the flirting stakes as Miss Piggy prepares to take her role as the official red carpet host at the Royal Opera House.
The fragrant porcine diva is set to collar the cream of the film industry, potentially including nominees George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Jean DuJardin and Michael Fassbender, on the biggest night of the year in British film. But there might be a tussle or two for the limelight when she confronts feminine competition in the form of Meryl Streep, Berenice Bejo, Michelle Williams and Viola Davies, all nominated in the best actress category.
The self styled “international star, role model and diva” said she was almost as excited to be interviewing the cream of the movie industry as they were in awe of meeting her.
“Imagine the likes of Clooney, DuJardin, Fassbender, Oldman and Pitt achieving the very pinnacle of their careers – being interviewed by the one and only moi! Naturally I will be asking questions that only moi would dare to ask.”
Miss Piggy has already laid down a challenge to George Clooney, who organizers hope will be on the red carpet with former wrestler Stacey Keibler at his side.”
“I don’t wrestle girlfriends. No. However, if George wants to wrestle, bring it on! Best two out of three falls? Winner gets a dinner?”
Miss Piggy will be taking her spot on the BAFTA red carpet for the event sponsor Orange, alongside a host of other interviewers including Dermot O’Leary, Edith Bowman and a host of international press and broadcasters.
