MRC in comedy deal

Media Rights Capital and the Second City are set to announce today that they are partnering in an online comedy venture. The project, dubbed "The Second City's Quarantine," will launch this year and feature original material from the improv troupe's current roster and alumni network, which includes Tina Fey and Steve Carell.

ABC Studios will receive the 2008 Outstanding Achievement Award at the Banff World Television Festival. ABC Studios president Mark Pedowitz will accept the tribute June 9. The Banff fest runs June 8-11 in the Canadian Rockies.

SUNDANCE GOES 'CRAZY'

Sundance Channel has acquired the TV rights to Dan Klores' documentary film "Crazy Love." The film, which documents the relationship of Burt and Linda Pugach, will make its TV debut in January as part of Sundance Channel's programming around the Sundance Film Festival.

LING EXTENDS 'OPRAH' STAY

"The Oprah Winfrey Show" has renewed its deal with special correspondent Lisa Ling to extend through 2009. Ling first began as a contributor in 2004.
