Pellicano Jury Quiet

The jury is still out in the federal government's wiretapping and racketeering case against Anthony Pellicano. On Tuesday, jurors concluded their third full day of deliberations. The federal case went to the jury Thursday following closing arguments in the eight-week trial. Negotiations resume today.

RAMIREZ in for ferrera

Cierra Ramirez, who most recently appeared in Disney Channel's "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," will play the younger version of America Ferrera's character Mona in "An Invisible Sign of My Own," which Marilyn Agrelo is directing.

CINEMEDIA Q1 LOSS

National Cinemedia posted a first-quarter loss of $400,000, down from a profit of $800,000 a year ago, because of higher expenses. Revenue edged up $600,000 to $62.7 million.

DWA MAKES 'BUY' LIST

Goldman Sachs has added shares of DreamWorks Animation to its "Conviction Buy List." Analyst Ingrid Chung on Tuesday increased her earnings-per-share estimates by 7% for the 2008-11 period and her price target on the stock by $3 to $35. She cited higher expectations for international boxoffice from "Kung Fu Panda," higher estimates for library results and "overblown" fears of weaker DVD trends.

IGER to SPEAK AT USC

Disney president and CEO Robert Iger will be the commencement speaker at USC's graduation ceremonies May 16 at the University Park Campus. Norman Lear is scheduled to receive an honorary degree.

REGENT UPS AUBRY

Regent Releasing has promoted Jonathon Aubry to vp theatrical marketing. He reports to Mark Reinhart, Regent's West Coast GM and exec vp distribution and acquisitions. Aubry will oversee all theatrical and DVD marketing and publicity for the gay and lesbian label, here! Films, as well as the indie features and specialized releases for Regent.

LINEUP SET FOR HIFF LAB

Directors Ira Sachs, Maria Maggenti and Whit Stillman will mentor young scribes at this weekend's Hamptons International Film Festival's eighth annual Screenwriters' Lab. New scripts from James Ponsoldt, Alex Johnson, Bradford Tatum and Avi Weider will be workshopped in East Hampton starting Friday and running through Sunday. The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation is co-sponsoring the event with HIFF, set for Oct. 15-19 in New York.

Grillo Cops to Craven pic

Frank Grillo is set to play the lead in "Bug," aka "25/8," for writer-director Wes Craven. Grillo ("Prison Break") will play a cop who is determined to stop a notorious serial killer. He next appears in New Line's "Pride and Glory," directed by Gavin O'Connor, opposite Edward Norton and Colin Farrell. He is repped by Innovative & Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
