New 'LOTR' vid game set

Electronic Arts subsidiary Pandemic Studios is partnering with New Line on a new "Lord of the Rings" video game to be released in the fall. "LOTR: Conquest" is a first-person shooter that will give fans the chance to play as Frodo and other heroes.

SHOOT AND 'TELL'

Fred Caruso and D. Constantine Conte have given the green light to a $60 million epic based on the legend of William Tell. Ian Quinn will make his directorial debut with "The Adventures of William Tell." Cornelius Schrengle will pen the script. Caruso and Conte plan a 2010 release target. Kiera Chaplin, Charlie Chaplin's granddaughter, will star as Tell's wife.

FESTA AT CITY LIGHTS

Lou Festa has jointed City Lights Media Group as CFO, reporting to CEO Danny Fisher and overseeing the company's business and finance operations for its growing slate of TV and indie film projects.

LE CLAIRE OUT AT KINOWELT

Bertil le Claire has resigned as managing director of German film group Kinowelt. He will step down at month's end. StudioCanal's Romain Bessi will take over Kinowelt until a successor can be found.

LARSON IN DGA'S WESTERN

Jon Larson has been upped to associate Western executive director at the DGA.
