SAG sets town hall

As AFTRA and the majors continue their negotiations under a press blackout, SAG has decided to call a town hall meeting for Monday in Los Angeles to update its members on the TV/theatrical contract negotiations that just ended with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers. SAG president Alan Rosenberg and national executive director and chief negotiator Doug Allen will be on hand for the meeting, set for 7 p.m. at the WGA Theater in Beverly Hills.



Zofcin tends UA affairs

United Artists has appointed entertainment attorney Christa Zofcin head of business affairs. She will report to UA COO Elliott Kleinberg. Zofcin was senior vp business affairs at Yari Film Group.

Israel fest sets fetes

ICM's Jeffrey Berg, Oscar winner Kirk Douglas, Israeli filmmaker Menahem Golan and Carl and Rob Reiner will be honored June 11 at an opening-night gala awards dinner for the 23rd Israel Film Festival in Los Angeles. The fest runs June 12-26, with screenings at theaters in West Los Angeles, West Hollywood and Woodland Hills.

Jesse L. Martin and Rachael Ray were among those honored Tuesday by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg at the third annual Made in NY Awards ceremony at Gracie Mansion. The award honors those who have made significant contributions to the city's entertainment industry. Also receiving honors were R/GA chair and global chief creative officer Robert Greenberg and Independent Feature Project executive director Michelle Byrd.
