'Real World' order

MTV has greenlighted "The Real World" for a 21st cycle. The show, from Bunim-Murray Prods., will be set in Brooklyn this time. The network has ordered 12 hourlong episodes for first-quarter 2009.

Ice on the cake

Versus said its Sunday telecast of the Philadelphia Flyers-Pittsburgh Penguins' Game 2 of the NHL Eastern Conference finals was the most-watched on the cable network, drawing 2.3 million total viewers, Nielsen said.

TW Cable upgrade

Time Warner Cable has named Matthew Siegel senior vp and treasurer. He was vp and assistant treasurer at Time Warner.

'Gladiators' wimpy

"American Gladiators" stumbled in its return to NBC, while "House" led Fox to a nightly win Monday. After a strong run during the WGA strike, "Gladiators" returned with an average of 5 million viewers and a 1.9 rating/5 share among adults 18-49, logging its lowest original rating and finishing third in the 8-10 p.m. period.

Garner OK after stroke

James Garner, who was hospitalized late last week after suffering a minor stroke, is doing well and should be going home shortly, the veteran television and film star's publicist said Tuesday. Garner, 80, the star of such TV shows as "Maverick" and "The Rockford Files" went to the hospital after becoming ill at home Friday.
