Burnett puts on 'Cowboy' hat

Mark Burnett Prods. has entered into an agreement to become the exclusive producer of "Toughest Cowboy" starting with the upcoming season. "Cowboy" is operated by Grit Rock Rodeo, a company jointly owned by AEG and Jac Sperling. This is the first venture undertaken as part of an overall partnership recently announced between AEG and Mark Burnett's production company. "Cowboy," in its second season, has aired for the past two years nationally on Fox Sports Net, but discussions with networks and new sponsors already have begun for the upcoming seasons.

HBO TAKES ITUNES BOW

HBO said Tuesday that three of its series — "The Sopranos," "Rome" and "Deadwood" — will become the first shows on iTunes to be offered for $2.99 per episode. It's part of a wider-ranging pact with Apple that puts paid downloads of HBO programming on the platform for the first time. Other HBO series including "Sex and the City" will be available for the iTunes standard price of $1.99. While HBO is launching on iTunes with six series, more programming is expected to be added.
