ASIMO, a 4-foot-3 robot designed by Honda Motor Co., conducted the Detroit Symphony on Tuesday in "The Impossible Dream" from "Man of La Mancha." "Hello, everyone," ASIMO said in a childlike voice, then waved to the orchestra. Then it perfectly mimicked the actions of a conductor, nodding its head at various sections and gesturing with one or both hands.

Dolly Parton wants a piece of Howard Stern. The singer is livid about a segment last week in which the sat radio shock jock played recordings from one her audio books manipulated into seemingly racist and sexually graphic sound bites. "I have never been so shocked, hurt and humiliated in all my life," Parton said Wednesday. "They have done editing or some sort of trickery to make this horrible, horrible thing. … If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it's going to be over this."
