SKI CHANNEL GETS BUSY

Ski Channel has acquired broadcast rights to the TV series "Skiers World," previously carried on Outdoor Life and produced by Double Black Diamind Prods. In addition, the network has licensed Level 1 Prods.' library of classic ski film titles and acquired broadcast rights to the Teva Mountain Games festival, set for June 5-8 in Vail, Colo. Additionally, the network has inked a partnership with the U.S. Showshoe Assn. for TV rights as well as ownership over a potential series of events as well as the U.S. World Cup stop.

BACH HEADS TO IFC

IFC has tapped Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach to appear as himself in at least one episode of its upcoming series "Z Rock," a scripted comedy loosely based on the real lives of three band members.

HALLMARK ups LEE

Laura J. Lee has been promoted to vp network distribution and service at Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel. She was vp Eastern and Central regions. In her new position, Lee will oversee the day-to-day affiliate sales efforts for the entire country as well as continuing to support senior vp Janice Arouh in developing strategic solutions for increasing distribution of both channels.

SUNDANCE UPS VOD, HD

Sundance Channel is doubling the number of programming hours it's making available each month in VOD and HD VOD starting June 1. The number of hours per month on Sundance Channel on Demand will increase from 10 to 25 hours of standard-definition and from six to 12 hours of HD VOD.
