'Blood' oath for Caplan

Lizzy Caplan ("Cloverfield") has joined the cast of Alan Ball's new HBO series "True Blood." In a recurring role, Caplan will play Amy Burley, a college student living in a vampire-filled town. Caplan is repped by Gersh and Artistry.

'Look' debut is June 4

TV Land's new reality series "She's Got the Look," a search for models age 35 and older, will premiere June 4, while another new entry, "Family Foreman," will launch July 16. The new season of "Myths and Legends" will roll out Aug. 27, while the TV Land Awards will air June 15. The summer lineup also will feature the launches of off-network series "Mad About You" (June 22) and "Murphy Brown" (Aug. 4).

NBC annoints 'Kings'

NBC has formally picked up "Kings" to series. The project, a contemporary take on the David vs. Goliath tale, originally was ordered as a two-hour pilot, though NBC announced it as a midseason replacement at 10 p.m. Sundays at its "in-front" presentation to advertisers in April. "Kings," written by Michael Green," stars Christopher Egan and Ian McShane.

Schieffer stays put

Ex-"CBS Evening News" anchor Bob Schieffer, who at one point planned to leave the network around Inauguration Day, has signed a long-term deal.
