The Recording Academy said Wednesday that the 51st annual Grammy Awards will be held Sunday, Feb. 8, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live to the East Coast by CBS. "The next 50 are here, and we are delighted to be in our hometown," Recording Academy chief Neil Portnow said. Nominations will be announced Dec. 4.

WHO'S NEXT HONOR

Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters and the Flaming Lips have signed on to perform at VH1's third annual "Rock Honors," which this year will salute the Who. The event will be held July 12 at Pauley Pavilion in Westwood and air five days later. The Who also will perform during the taping.

Coldplay's anticipated free concert in Barcelona will be held June 17 at the Espacio Movistar, EMI confirmed Wednesday. The Spanish gig, which was leaked by frontman Chris Martin during a radio broadcast last month, will be bookended by previously announced free dates in London and New York.
