FiLmauro adds home video BIZ

Aurelio De Laurentiis' production company Filmauro is getting involved in the home entertainment business, distributing digitized versions of its productions through the Medusa Video network. The deal links two of the biggest names in the Italian media world: De Laurentiis, the nephew of famed producer Dino De Laurentiis, has produced some of the highest-grossing Italian films in the past three years. Medusa Video is a subsidiary of broadcast giant Mediaset, controlled by media tycoon and current Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

Five for Brussels

The Brussels European Film Festival, which kicks off June 28, will feature five world premieres. The fest, a showcase for debut or second features from young directors, opens with the comedy "Melodrama Habibi" from Paris-based Lebanese director Hany Tamba.

Davies at San Seb

The 56th annual San Sebastian International Film Festival said that it will honor director Terence Davies with a retrospective during its Sept. 18-27 run. A full body of Davies' work will be shown, including "Of Time and the City," which screened in May in the Festival de Cannes' official selection.
