Latin superstar Shakira is in talks with Live Nation for a contract that will include touring, merchandising and recording, sources said. The Colombian-born songstress is expected to complete a 360-degree deal with Live Nation worth up to $70 million before the end of the year, after months of talks.

NEW FACE

Marc Andreessen, who founded Netscape and sold it to AOL for $10 billion, has joined Facebook's board. Andreessen also is co-founder and chairman of Ning, a service for letting groups create their own social networks — potentially competing with Facebook.

scripps trips

Shares of newspaper publisher EW Scripps fell 5.6% on Tuesday to $3.01, their first day of trading after the company spun off its Internet and cable TV properties into Scripps Networks Interactive, which now trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol SNI. Shares of Scripps Networks, which holds networks like Home & Garden Television, rose 3.7% to $39.75 in their trading debut.
