CHASEZ A 'COWBOY'

JC Chasez, formerly of 'N Sync, has joined "Kerosene Cowboys," director Mario Van Peebles' action-thriller about an elite Navy attack squadron. Chasez, repped by Paradigm and Podwall Entertainment, will play a pilot.

JENKINS A GHENT

Richard Jenkins will be honored with the 35th annual Ghent International Film Festival's Special Achievement Award in Belgium. The honor will be presented with the Benelux premiere of his Overture film "The Visitor" on Tuesday.

'STANDARD' SCREENING

Participant Media and Physicians for Human Rights will screen the Abu Ghraib docu "Standard Operating Procedure" for students at 27 U.S. medical schools today. The simultaneous 7 p.m. EDT digital screening will be followed by a Q&A session with writer-director Errol Morris.

ONE GIG FOR CALLEN

Bryan Callen will host the inaugural One Show Entertainment Awards, recognizing creative achievements by brands in the entertainment realm. Produced by the nonprofit One Club, the ceremony will take place Tuesday at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.

SLAVIN in cbs' plan

CBS Films is beefing up its staff, hiring Mimi Slavin as senior vp strategic planning and promotions. Slavin, who will report to worldwide marketing chief Debbie Miller, will oversee strategic initiatives and third-party promotional partnerships and also will work on marketing relationships.
