HONOR on horizon FOR LIFETIME'S WONG

Lifetime Networks president and CEO Andrea Wong will be honored Tuesday by the Media Institute during its annual Friends and Benefactors Awards Banquet at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington. NCTA president and CEO Kyle McSlarrow will present Wong with the American Horizon Award for Lifetime's "commitment to advocating on behalf of millions of women on issues that matter most in their lives."

bump for LETTERMAN

John McCain's visit to CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman" gave Letterman his highest viewership in nearly three years. The Thursday telecast was seen by 6.5 million viewers and received a 1.7 rating. That's the largest audience since December 2005, when Oprah Winfrey appeared.

EBONG promoted

ABC Studios manager of current programming Nne Ebong has been promoted to vp drama development for the studio. She reports to senior vp drama Channing Dungey.

A CHINA FIRST

U.K. television documentary banner Skyworks is about to become the first production company to shoot the whole of China from the air. The British production house has sealed a "world exclusive" pact with China Central Television to produce 52 episodes of "Flying Views of the World."
