OPEN BOOK FOR 'FAME'

Asher Book has been cast in MGM and Lakeshore Entertainment's remake of "Fame." In the past two months, the filmmakers have assembled actors to fill out the student body and faculty for their revamp of the 1980 musical. Book completes the major casting and will play Marco, a ladies man and blue-collar vocal powerhouse at the New York City High School of Performing Arts.

'Knight' Time

Warner Bros. plans to re-release "The Dark Knight" on Jan. 23 in regular theaters and Imax. The re-appearance of the Christopher Nolan film is timed to take advantage of any Oscar nominations it earns Jan. 22.

HONORS FOR ZUCKER

Annual exhibition trade show CineAsia will honor Sony Pictures Releasing International's Mark Zucker as its distributor of the year at the Dec. 9-11 event in Macau. CineAsia is a property of the Nielsen Co., parent company of The Hollywood Reporter.

NO 'DOUBT' ABOUT HER

Amy Adams will be honored for her performance in "Doubt" at the 20th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival. The award, which recognizes an extraordinary performance in a supporting role, will be presented to her at the fest's awards gala Jan. 6 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The fest runs Jan. 6-19.
